Round 1:
- Chain 6, slip stitch (SLST) into the 1st chain to form a ring.
- Chain 3 (counts as a stitch), then work 15 double crochet (DC) stitches into the ring.
- Slip stitch into the top of the initial chain 3 to close the round.
*Puff Stitch: Yarn over and insert the hook into the stitch where
you are creating your puff. Yarn over and pull through. There
will be three loops on the hook. Don't pull through loops. Yarn
Over again, insert your hook, yarn over and pull through.
Continue this until you've yarned over the amount of times
stated
Round 2:
- Pull up a loop in the first stitch, then make a Puff Stitch (yarn over 4 times) into the same stitch followed by chaining 3.
- *Puff Stitch into the next stitch (yarn over 4 times), then chain 2.*
- Continue making Puff Stitches into each stitch around, chaining 2 between each puff.
- At the end of the last puff, chain 2 and slip stitch into the top of the first puff.
- Then slip stitch into the next chain space. (You should have 16 puffs in total.)
*Bobble Stitch:
- Yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch/space, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops on the hook. Repeat until you have 4 loops on your hook, then yarn over and pull through all 4 loops.
Round 3:
- Chain 2, then make a Bobble Stitch (3 loops on hook, not including chain) in the 1st space followed by chaining 3.
- *Bobble Stitch (4 loops) in the next space.*
- Continue making Bobble Stitches in every stitch around, chaining 2 in between each bobble.
- Slip stitch to the chain 2 to close the round.
**Round 4:**
- Chain 4 (counts as first treble crochet (TC)), then work [2 TC, chain 2, 3 TC] into the same space (corner made).
- Work 3 DC into the next 3 chain spaces.
- *Repeat [3 TC, chain 2, 3 TC] into the next chain space.*
- Continue alternating 3 DC in the next 3 chain spaces and [3 TC, chain 2, 3 TC] in the subsequent chain space around.
- Slip stitch to the 4th chain of the initial chain 4 to close the round.
**Round 5:**
- Pull your loop to make it tall, remove your hook, then place it through the back loop only of the next stitch.
- Pull the loop through the stitch and work a back loop only (BLO) single crochet (SC) into the same stitch.
- Chain 2, then work BLO double crochet (DC) into the next stitch.
- *[2 DC, chain 2, 2 DC] into the corner space.*
- Continue working BLO DC in each stitch and [2 DC, chain 2, 2 DC] in each corner space around.
- Slip stitch to the chain 2 to close the round.
**Round 6:**
- Chain 4, skip the first DC.
- *Double crochet (DC) in the next stitch, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, and DC into the next.*
- Repeat this pattern across.
- *[2 DC, chain 2, 2 DC] in the corners.*
- Slip stitch to the 3rd chain of the initial chain 4 to close the round.
**Round 7:**
- Chain 3, skip the first stitch, then DC into the next chain space.
- DC in every stitch and chain space around.
- For the corners: *[2 DC, chain 2, 2 DC].*
- Slip stitch to the chain 3 to join.
**Round 8:**
- Chain 1, then single crochet (SC) in every stitch around.
- For corners: *2 SC, chain 1, 2 SC.*
- Slip stitch to the chain 1 to join and tie off your square.
